Set up Macquarie Authenticator

Macquarie Authenticator (Authenticator app) is one of the most secure verification methods you can use to operate your account. The Authenticator app adds an extra layer of security to safeguard your account and personal information. It is a mobile app that works seamlessly with the online portal, alerting you to any account changes and transactions so you can approve or deny them with just one touch.

To set up the Authenticator app on your device, all you need is a registered Australian mobile number, your Access Code and password.

Follow the steps below to set up and verify the Authenticator app on your device.

The Authenticator app is free to download from your app store – just search for ‘Macquarie Authenticator’.
 

Please note that whenever the Authenticator app asks you for your Macquarie ID, this is your existing Access Code that you use to log in to the online portal.

Linking your device means you will automatically receive push notifications from the Authenticator app on that device, instead of SMS messages, asking you to verify certain transactions or account changes.

To link your device to your Access Code:

1. Open the Authenticator app on your device
2. Tap on Set up Authenticator
3. Select and confirm a six-digit PIN you can use to log in to the Authenticator app
    

4. Choose if you’d like to log in to the Authenticator app using biometrics. Or tap on Skip if you would rather log in with a 6-digit pin.
    

5. On the 'Add your Macquarie ID' screen' tap on Add manually
    

6. Enter your Access Code and password. Please note you will be asked for your Macquarie ID, this is your existing Access Code that you use to log in to the online portal. If you’ve previously created one, you’re unable to use your alias to register the Authenticator app.

1. Click Next
2. Enter the SMS secure code that has been sent to your device (If you already have registered the Authenticator app on another device, you will be asked to verify from that device)
    

3. You will be prompted to:  

• Enable push notifications (tap on Allow). To set up Authenticator you must enable push notifications.
• Complete all of the steps in the training simulator. To finalise set up for Authenticator, you must complete the training simulator.

4. Click Done.
    

Once the setup process is complete, your device will automatically receive actionable push notifications when prompted to verify actions or account changes.

If you’ve already downloaded the Authenticator app from your app store, you can link multiple Access Codes to the same app.

1. Log in to the Authenticator app
2. Select Menu
3. Select Add new
4. Select Add manually
5. Add your new Access Code and Password and log in.
